Meet Candace Williams Our October 2016 Volunteer Spotlight
Candace Williams is a 2nd year high school one-on-one volunteer at Jefferson Park. Candace is also a member of our Volunteer Advisory Committee.
Candace is a graduate of Northeastern University with her undergraduate and graduate degrees in economics. With a keen interest in public policy, Candace’s first job brought her to the Massachusetts state senate. Now, she works at the New England Board of Higher Education as Policy & Research analyst, where she’s able to bring her enthusiasm for education and policy-making together. Candace joined Tutoring Plus last fall as a high school tutor/mentor at Jefferson Park and she’s a member of the T+ Advisory Committee.
“Tutoring Plus has given me the opportunity to be a part of my community in a really exciting way. Working with my student throughout his junior year and now, as he enters his senior year, has been so rewarding. There’s nothing better than helping him achieve his dream of attending college. Plus, getting to know the other volunteers who are so engaged in the program, through T+’s volunteer events, has been really fun!”
